What Are Veneers?
Porcelain veneers, which are a more permanent way to restore your teeth, will provide dramatic changes by closing gaps, repairing chipped or worn teeth and covering discolorations. Porcelain veneers can also correct your bite, often relieving TMJ discomfort, and making crowded teeth appear straight ("instant orthodontics"). This procedure requires only two visits.
What is Bonding?
This procedure will help restore teeth by filling in cracks. chips and worn teeth. This process, in which enamel-like material is applied to the tooth's surface and hardened with a light, can usually be accomplished in a single visit.
What are Dental Implants?
Implants are a permanent solution to missing teeth that help you to keep a beautiful and healthy smile for a lifetime. We will work with you to make sure you get the form and function you deserve and can restore any implant work that you’ve had in the past. My patients who have worn dentures for most of their adult life are elated to no longer have all the hassles and embarrassments related to poor fitting and uncomfortable dentures.
Alternatives To Crowns
Tooth Saving Porcelain Inserts and Bridges
Have you ever had a piece of your tooth break and then have the rest of the tooth ground down in order to place a crown? That may no longer be necessary. With minimal tooth reduction, we can restore broken and cracked teeth with innovative porcelain inserts to make your tooth almost new. This same technology can be used to replace missing teeth.
Crowning Root Canal Teeth May Not Always Be Necessary
Metal Faced Crowns
Ever wonder why some people have blue gums? This is caused by the metal shining through their gums. We now can use space-age materials with no metal that will actually strengthen teeth and look totally natural!
We can now use innovative materials and lasers to bond the tooth together from the inside, restoring the tooth back to 90% of its original strength.
Metal Free Fillings
Silver fillings date back to the days of the Civil War. These fillings can act like metal wedges and put internal pressure on the tooth, contributing to cracks and breakage. So what can you do?
Tooth colored fillings work well on smaller cavities. Porcelain inserts are innovative pieces of porcelain that replace the area where the old fillings are, thus saving tooth structure. Bonded restorations will strengthen your tooth to 90% of its original strength.
What If I don't care about cosmetics or the way my teeth look?
The exciting thing about bonded restorations is that they will strengthen your teeth back to 90% of their original strength. It is just an added bonus that your teeth will look natural and beautiful.
Gum Recontouring
"Gummy smiles" are a very common problem, caused by overgrowth of the gum tissue that then covers the teeth. This unsightly occurrence can be caused by a variety of things, including heredity, health conditions. and even the use of many common high blood pressure medications. A gummy smile will dominate the mouth, making the teeth seem almost secondary in
appearance.
Instant Orthodontics
Orthodontic braces are most desirable for people under the age of 18. Many adults also wear braces, however, they are most likely to wear them for a longer period of time, and require a permanent retainer to hold the new positioning. Braces also require numerous office visits in addition to the general hassles of wearing braces. Braces may reposition teeth but will not affect the shape and color of the teeth which may or may not be desirable.
Modern dental technology can reshape uneven teeth and veneer them with high-tech ceramic. The result will give the appearance and function of a symmetrical smile. What we can do is absolutely amazing. For many adults this option is better than traditional orthodontics, and treatments can be complete in as little as two visits.
Digital Imaging
The Digital CMT Plus, (Complex Motion Tomography), allows us to take highly advanced images with minimal radiation, up to 95% less than traditional x-rays. In addition to the routine diagnostic images, our main focus is a 3-dimentional view of an area in which an implant will be placed. This allows accurate and precise placement of the implants.
We also utilize this technology for the treatment of TMD (Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction) problems by imaging the jaw joint area. This allows us to visualize many anomalies and conditions of the jaw joint that we were not able to see prior to this technology.
